Garden Walk 2021
6722 Franklin Blvd Information
The house was built as a residence in 1908. It became LEIMKUHLER’s Funeral home in 1929, and was an operational funeral home until around 1969, when it was remodeled back into a residence. This photo shows, however, the sign mounted on the porch even though the date is 1979.
At the time the property was purchased in 1998, the entire driveway was a parking lot, with cracked asphalt over cracked concrete. The entire area was removed in 2006. The plan for the new back yard reserved the garden space as you see it today.
The garage is currently 4 bays. It was once 7 bays, as evidenced by the 3-tiered wall next to the garage. The first three bays were removed before the current owners took possession in 1998.
The garden has a mix of plants that provide a variety of shades of green when the flowers themselves are not in bloom.
Plants include:
Butterfly Bush Arbor Vitae Yucca Mock Orange Eastern Redbud trees Sage Chives Wild geranium Hosta Holly Roses Liriope Boxwood Yew Iris Feverfew
Cone Flowers
